A big fan of the show, this was a great experience that I had to share with a friend and uber-talented character designer, Julius Campbell.
"Action Replay/One To Rule Them All"
This is my style frame for my pitch. Funny story, the timing for this project was really cool. For the first time, I had binged through Rick and Morty over a weekend. I was floored by the writing, and the following week Will Feng contacted me with the opportunity to work on their ID/Bumper.
The portal gun is a major part to Rick and Morty's world so I thought i would have fun with it.
Hiring Julius Campbell was a project checklist for me. His unique shapes and style are truly refreshing to me. So while I could focus on animation and other technicals, I hired him to lay the ground work for our characters, and then I followed up with my clean version of his vision. A truly collaborative experience.
