One of the hottest Canadian music labels, PUBLIC RECORDS, approached me as the perfect fit to creatively direct the animated side of their charismatic artist, PILLA B.
The universe of PIlla B, has been an awesome space to explore so far. Creatively synced, I've lead skilled team of artist to create his music videos VANILLA, CARELESS FREESTYLE, and SCHOLARSHIPS.
"VANILLA"
With a very limited budget and committed animation friends, I was able to string together 4 music videos as promo for Pilla B's EP.
For Vanilla and Scholarship, I chose to have the "fight" scene animated in a very different style because I felt it would be fun to switch gears visually.
My challenge was creating a pipeline to make sure videos like Vanilla and Scholarships felt the same, despite having different narratives. I used Blender 3D to create my sets so I could take advantage of the camera when it came to finding interesting and dynamic compositions. Importing and using props was smooth because of each assets reusability.
"CARELESS FREESTYLE"
"SCHOLARSHIPS"
TAIJITU's last single in the trilogy "SCHOLARSHIP" became the series highlight. The pipeline for the video was produced through Adobe's Animate, After Effects, and Blender 3D. A personal trinity for the series at the time.

"THANK GOD"
INTERSTELLAR's first single "THANK GOD" was created on my own within a short window because of Blender 3D. Re-using the assets from a previous music video was instrumental in making the dead line.
